A few years off playing regular sport, a less than healthy diet and, to be honest, some pretty heavy boozing saw my fitness fall to all-time lows and my weight to all-time highs. I was determined to sort it out and started a campaign to get myself in shape. A few months of hitting the gym most days barely changed a thing. Then I met Jack, and for a while whenever he would see me slaving away he would offer technique or exercise advice that really seemed to boost my workouts. Following a few months of these pearls, I decided to book a course of sessions – the best decision I could have made. Within just a few weeks the difference was obvious – my fitness dramatically improved and Jack helped me lose 15kg of body fat and gained 3kg of muscle mass. Having someone there to motivate you, to educate you, to push you through those last few reps and keep you going when you might else give-up was imperative to get me into the shape I wanted, and to get my body fat down from 27% to 13%. It’s because of Jack’s personality and knowledge that his sessions have always been varied, full of banter and an absolute pleasure to attend. And why I consider Jack to be no longer just my PT, but also a good mate!

I have been training with Jack in London regularly for about 14 months now and have found the sessions very rewarding and productive. Jack is very approachable and has an ability to make the training session not only good fun and interesting, but also quite challenging. He puts quite a bit of thought into each and every session and so there is great variety in everything we do. Our hourly sessions typically involve resistance training targeting various muscle groups mixed with high intensity cardio (stair climbing, rowing). During the time I have been training with Jack, I have lost approximately 50 kgs. and 10 inches off my waist! Jack was critical to my weight-loss as he provided me with constant motivation and made sure I exercised to my fullest potential. I would strongly recommend Jack to anyone who is serious about getting fit whilst having fun at the same time. I will surely miss him and our sessions as he returns home to Australia.

Years of working as a chef took its toll on my weight. I attempted changing my nutrition and exercise but found myself slipping back and forth and not attaining any real results. Enough was enough and I made contact with Jack. With his expert guidance I have managed to change my diet for the better and now can resist the temptations offered in an upscale restaurant kitchen. Jack trained me twice per week and provided me with as much exercise knowledge as possible, allowing me to train another 1- 2 times per week on my own. It’s been 4 months now and I’ve lost 15kg and reduced my body-fat percentage from 38% to 16.8%. To be clear – this would have never been possible on my own. I feel amazing and am a completely new man, and I now have the knowledge and motivation to continue on my own, and that six pack is just around the corner!

Having decided in a moment of madness earlier this year to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, I realized that although reasonably fit, I was definitely going to need that extra push to get up to the summit (all 19640 ft of it)!!. Hence my reason for signing up for 8 weeks of PT sessions with Jack.

The training regime I was put under was tough but Jack had a way of making it enjoyable, and rewarding, setting achievable goals along the way to keep me motivated. I get bored pretty easily and he mixed up and tailored the sessions so that even some of the exercises I hated at the start, I grew to love at the end… even squats!

The 8 day trek on the Lemosho route was an amazing experience and I made it to the top (and yes, even had enough energy left to do the the obligatory prisoner squat photo as well!).

Thanks for all your help and encouragement Jack – it really made a difference!. Having been inspired by Kili, I’m now off to start training for the New York Marathon and trekking the Inca Trail in 2011!!

Like many people I have a very hectic work and social life. I simply cannot find the time to exercise 4 or 5 times a week. I first started working out with Jack early in 2009, I’d been hitting the gym for about six months and although I’d initially made good progress in getting in shape I’d stopped making progress in my fitness and was starting to bet bored. I’d spoken with a few trainers in the gym and booked some sessions with Jack as he had a relaxed approach and I’d liked the look of some of the exercises I’d seen him showing his clients. My goal in getting a trainer was to get back to the level of fitness and strength I’d had when I was playing rugby, get in shape for snowboarding and also strengthen my core as I was having a bit of back pain. In the space of a few months I went from being able to do about 2 pull ups to 10 with relative ease which was very satisfying, we then worked on getting in shape for snowboarding and I have to say I had one of my most enjoyable trips to the mountains ever …. all that ‘Plyo’ work paid off as I spent a week boarding without really ever feeing tired. We also sorted out my core strength with many weird and wonderful exercises and I’m pleased to see I now have no real pain in my back. All in all, I got the results I was looking for and perhaps most importantly I can honestly say that despite training twice a week for almost two years with Jack I never once got bored….. you really won’t find a better personal trainer.

about 10 weeks prior to the start of rugby season I turned to Jack for some advice. A reoccurring shoulder injury was doing my head in and I had to fix it. I felt my endurance level was pretty up there, but wanted to also improve on this slightly. I trained under Jacks guidance for 8 weeks leading up to the start of rugby season and the results were nothing short of astonishing. Not only is my shoulder stronger than its been in years but those niggles have completely disappeared and no issues whatsoever when it comes to scrums and tackling. My speed, agility, and endurance (which I felt were strong) improved tenfold and i received man of the match my first two games back. If you need to get yourself into premium shape then I cannot recommend Jack enough.

Before coming to Jack I’d been going to the gym for 10 years but had never managed to stay constantly motivated.
